This is a great movie. If you want to watch an inspiring film about overcoming adversity and your dreams coming true, then this is your next option. ABCD follows three friends who are all dealing with different sorts of problems in their lives, but all have one thing in common - they are talented dancers. One of the characters, AJ , has been told her dance career will soon be over because she's never had any formal training before now. Another, Valerie , struggles with being labeled as too feminine for ballet while the third one Nyaa , discovers that her mom had been lying to her about her dance background. Through the entire film, they come together to help each other accomplish their dreams and become champions. There are also two featurettes that were released after the movie's release. The first one is the "Making Of". Its about 55 minutes long but gives a good insight into what went on during filming. The second one is set several years later and is called "Follow Your Dreams". Its about 15 minutes in length and gives great insight in how they all turned out in their dance career. The film premiered on October 8, 2011. "O" is taken from the lyrics of the song "If you leave me now", which is performed within the soundtrack by Gackt. The episode aired on April 25, 2012. The film received mixed reviews from critics. "Variety" gave the film a positive review, stating that it was not only an entertaining dance movie but also an inspiring one. "Rotten Tomatoes" also gave the film a positive review, with 51% of 18 reviews being positive out of 4,514 reviews. Aside from this, it received praise for its choreography, music and its inspiring message. While giving the piece a negative review , Jarrette defended their choice in casting Jennifer Stone for Butch saying that she was the only person who could play it correctly, while praising Alexandra Shipp for her performance as CeCe. The film spawned the song "If You Leave Me Now". While not related to the movie, it is considered to be one of Gackt's best songs out of his 18-year career.
